What is Functional Medicine?

Functional medicine is a patient-centered approach to medical practice.  It examines the interaction among genetics, environment and lifestyle factors.  This model of medicine can be applied to almost any chronic condition and supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual patient.

How is Functional Medicine different?

Functional medicine differs from traditional medicine in that it involves understanding the origins, prevention and treatment of chronic disease.  It focuses on prevention through nutrition, diet, exercise; use of lab testing and diagnostic techniques and prescribed combinations of drugs, botanical medicines and supplements.
